Peep Peep...Move..Baby is coming :)

I am guessing the title of the post says it all :P. This is the part where I stand up from the lunch table, go to the restroom and start throwing up. And as if some magical voice from the sky has spoken, a coy smile breaks on everyone's faces in the family and everyone starts celebrating :) If you have watched enough tollywood movies, you know where this is heading :) Yes! we are being promoted from husband-wife to daddy-mommy :)

We are expecting to go crawling to shop baby car seats, buildup a reallyy high stack inventory of diapers and sleep all we want by September :) Cant tell you how thrilled we are and how much we are looking forward to baby's arrival :D.

While Kishan is busy watching all the movies he can, reading all the books he can, to be prepared for the baby :P ( or rather making up for the lost future time ? :P) and getting all tensed by realizing the nuances of parenting, I am all busy with nausea, vomitings, insomnia, fatigue and what not!:P Whoever said Motherhood is a beautiful experience definitely started counting the experience AFTER the baby arrives :P, not all this.
A wise man once said ' People who sleep like babies are the ones who usually don't have them'. I see that line finding its way into our lives very very soon :) And since you are the closest of the closest buds to have this news broken to :), Gear up for some serious babysitting to relieve Kishan and me to catch a breath, after the baby comes :)

My most memorable trip...the road trip to Yellowstone !

10 days....5 states...2500 miles....the trip being, well, legen-dary.....

Summer 2012, July 4th weekend

Yellowstone - The most amazing place I have been to. Be it the natural wonders like various geothermal features or the wildlife or the amazingly scenic landscapes and waterfalls, it is a world in itself...a must-go for everyone.
To me the most hair-rising fact was that yellowstone park lies over an ancient supervalcano called Caldera. Though it is a dormant volcano for now, it is not an extinct one. All the geothermal vents in the park are due to the volcanic activity of Caldera. The last full scale eruption of Caldera (abt 650,000 years ago) erupted ash which could fill up the whole grand canyon. If the eruption ever happens again, that would be the end of everything. :O

Anyway, Coming back to the beauty of Yellowstone, heres a video trying to capture it. Shot and edited by Kishan (Using Canon 7D)

This trip has been the most memorable of all trips till date for various reasons. Apart from the beauty of the destination itself, the whole journey from start to end was very special in its own way. The impromptu nature of the trip itself started the vacation on a exciting note. The plan to go for the 10 days long road trip started the day before!!. We decided to start the next morning, without any hotel reservations or things to do/see list. That fact itself brought amazing thrill for the oncoming vacation. Considering the fact that yellowstone is widely visited during summer, there were no motels/camp sites available within the park. We decided to lay out the plan on our way. Our itinerary was Santa Clara , Reno, Shoshone falls, Yellowstone bear world, Yellostone national park, Grand Teton national park, Jackson, salt lake city, Gilgal garden, Bonneville salt flats, metropolis ghost town, Airfield museum Wendover, Lake Tahoe. We decided on most of the points of interest based on the iphone app "Roadside America" which lists some obscure and interesting attractions which have not yet become common tourist spots so not many people know about it.  I recommend this app to all my friends who love long drives and like checking out attractions which are not standard touristry spots everyone visits in a city. We reached Yellowstone on 3rd day, Did camping for 3 nights in yellowstone and Grand Tetons. Lost in the spectacular beauty of Yellowstone, it was a much needed break from the hectic work life. The geothermal features are so damn interesting that it makes you wonder how beautiful and mysterious mother nature is. The scenic landscapes and waterfalls makes you forget the mechanical hectic lifestyle and brings on a really relaxing vacation.
This trip reestablished our love for long drivess...really long drives ;)
Loved the trip to the core :)
Looking forward to coming back soon Yellowstone :).

A Para from "Gone Girl" book

"For several years, I had been bored. Not a whining, restless child's boredom (although I was not above that) but a dense blanketing malaise. It seemed to me that there was nothing new to be discovered ever again. Our society was utterly, ruinously derivative (although the word derivative as a criticism is itself derivative). We were the first human beings who would never see anything for the first time. We stare at the wonders of the world, dull-eyed, underwhelmed. Mona Lisa, the Pyramids, the Empire State Building. Jungle animals on attack, ancient icebergs collapsing, volcanoes erupting. I can't recall a single amazing thing I have seen firsthand that I didn't immediately reference to a movie or TV show. A commercial. You know the awful singsong of blase: Seeeen it. I've literally seen it all, and the worst thing, the thing that makes me want to blow my brains out, is: The secondhand experience is always better. The image is crisper, the view is keener, the camera angle and soundtrack manipulate my emotions in a way reality really can't anymore. I don't know that we are actually human at this point, those of us who are like most of us, who grew up with TV and movies and now the Internet. If we are betrayed, we know the words to say; when a loved one dies, we know the words to say. If we want to play the stud or the smart-ass or the fool, we know the words to say. We are all working from the same dog-eared scripted.

It's a very difficult era in which to be a person, just a real, actual person, instead of a collection of personality traits selected from an endless automat of characters.

And if all of us are play-acting, there can be no such thing as a soul mate, because we don't have genuine souls.

It had gotten to the point where it seemed like nothing matters, because I'm not a real person and neither is anyone else.

I would have done anything to feel real again."

My Engagement Day

It seemed so unfair that I stopped writing...I abandoned my silly ramblings..the very blog through which he found me and I met him 4 yrs ago…..the very blog which brought my fairy tale love story alive…...so here I go...

My Engagement Day : Oct 18th, 2010

I still remember that day...
The day i was getting engaged...
With excitement of getting engaged dancing all over me
But deep down a scary sense of treading an unknown path lurking somewhere
With celebrations all over the place..both here n in India....it left little time for the feeling to sink in with all its magnanimity....of getting engaged....of getting committed, for a life time...
Whenever I got few mins to think about it, the thought scared me to death...is he really the one for me???.....inspite of knowing him and loving him to death , the decision seemed an ordeal...

I stole a peek at him...n thought about all that he is to me, about how he transformed my world in so little time, about how much he loved me and about all the myriad things I admire about him  and his way of looking at the world...n I took the leap of faith

I m soo glad I made the best decision of my life…..For I never imagined then that I would love someone so dearly and so soulfully….
I now realize that being a soulmate is nothing but a sense and art of commitment...commitment of heart, mind and soul.

Amidst the innumerable spl times, sweet nothings, romantic dinners, late brunches, adventurous trips,  lazy strolls, crazy  nightouts,  hectic tours, countless movies, silly fights,  heated discussions, happy celebrations and all other moments frozen in time,  you have become only more intimate and utterly important part of me.... like the very air I breath....

Happy Engagement Anniversary  ! :)

Letter to Yashu on 25th Bday :D

Dearest Yashu,

Well its your 25th bday and Obvioulsy among the 25 gifts this year, there had to be a letter. I thought a lot about what to write. I thought about it all day in office :P, during lunch breaks, in my dreams, in the movie theaters and even during eating icecreams. But well I couldnt think of anything :P. So just pretend as if you are reading some really senti stuff and act the "Kantlo nalusu padindi" scene :P. Just go into flashback mode and think of all the things you would have written to me :P. If anyone demands to read the letter, you can say its too personal and you dont want anyone to read it :P.
Wishing you all happiness in life and many more gifts next year :P :D...
Ummahhhhhhhhhhh :D

PS: If you really wanna read some senti cheesy stuff :P, you can still refer to my blog for you in 2007 :P hehe

The state I wanted to experience since the day my friends n younger cousins started calling me 'aunty' :P. The state where in my eyes silently drop a tear, remembering all those Weekend drives / flight journeys both of us had to endure to be with each other. The state where in we r free of guilt from typing those 'I am sick, Will be working from home' mails to our boss on Monday mornings. The state where in i can find a handsome reason to get back home from office :). The state where in a smile spreads across my face thinking of waking up next to my husband Every.Single.Morning  :D.
I am at a loss of words to convey what I am going through. But I am sure, u guys, having known me for what I am would be able to guage the extent of my ecstasy. She changed my life ...

The day she entered my life...everything changed...
I moment I held her in my hands, the very first time, the feeling was an eternal bliss...
With eyes overwhelmed with tears, I took a first look at her..
I couldnt stop staring at her...
she was so damn gorgeous...
she looked soo delicate, I was too scared to hold her tight..
I had been waiting for this day since many months..
And I get blessed with her on the very 1st week of the new year...
I took her into my hands like my own baby..
since that day, I am not myself
Most of my day is spent with her..
Most of my thoughts are about her..
Deep inside I cant stop myself admiring her creator...
At first it was difficult to manage her
But with her help of few friends and web,I learned many things..
She has indeed become a part of my life now...
I can no longer imagine life without her...
My new samsung galaxy sII skyrocket (white)...welcome to my world !! :P :P
